What You Want in a Math Teacher

WOW!  I read all of you post-it notes about what you are looking for in a math teacher.  It was very insightful and I hope that I can live up to all of your expectations!  Some of the most common items were...
  • makes math enjoyable
  • have a sense of humor
  • don't overload us with homework
  • don't be mean
  • have fun teaching us
  • help us when we need it
  • give us examples that we will understand
  • teach us things we will use in real life, not useless things
  • don't move on until we understand it
And last, but not least...

MAKE MATH FUN!!!!

There were many more characteristics that you were looking for, but these were the most common.  Let's have a great year and make math fun!

Multiple Intelligences

In class today, we found out what our multiple intelligence strength was.  This was done by using a survey in which we determined if statements applied to us or not.  Some of us agreed with what we found out, while others did not.  However, any way that you look at the results, it indicates which mode of learning works best for you, or your learning style.  It is not the only mode of learning, as you learn from all of the different modes.  It is the one that works best for you, which may change over time.  In fact, you may have more than one!

Here is a website that will help you to better understand what you multiple intelligence says about you and what types of activities help you to learn best.  Click on the link and then click on you intelligence style.  Check it out!
